Understanding Taj Mahal tours in a better light

To think of Indian attractions is to think of Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is visited by numerous Travelers round the year. Taj Mahal, which was a fascination of Shah Jahan, has now manifested the architectural expertise of Mughal Empire or India for that matter. Which other architectural wonder can be an extraordinary specimen of Indian architecture than Taj itself!

Shrouded in many stories and folklores, Taj Mahal beckons the travelers by its sheer pulchritude. Visit it at any point of time and each time it has something unique to offer to your eyeballs. Capture the beauty of Taj by your eyes and restore it in your heart. Spend some quality time in company of your beloved. Even a family trip to Taj is equally enjoyable.

At the backdrop of placid waters of Yamuna River, the Taj hosts many festivals also including Taj Mahotsav that is a great crowd puller. Thousands of tourists visit Taj during tourist festivals organized by the Taj Mahal organizing committee. Taj Mahal tours are thus the hottest pick of travelers.

The travelers have many things to see inside Taj Mahal besides the tomb. Entering through the well trimmed gardens that are ‘Mughal Gardens’ they come across the main tomb. Removing the footwear they enter the complex of Taj. They see huge four minarets of Taj where verses from holy Quran are inscribed.

There is a mosque also which can be visited by the travelers. Wandering in Taj and spending some time in the tranquil ambiance of it is truly soothing.

Budget Tours Of Northern India

Travelling in budget is a concern of majority of tourists as almost everyone desire to get value for money and prefer to have a control over their spending. However, combining this inherent desire of the tourists, with the actual requirements of a traveller is an art very few travel agents have been able to master, of which Erco Travels is one.

This travel management company specialises in budget tours. In fact what makes them stand out from the rest in the business is the fact that the agents of this company enjoy being challenged by this segment of tourism sector business . For they are of the view, that in a country where hygiene standards differ in perception from that of foreigners, providing them all the facilities within a limited budget requires an in-depth understanding of the sector.

However, they also add that if each little aspect of the business is taken care of specifically then it is always possible to have wonderful budget tours. For example, in the budget tours of North India the two pillars of budget travel are-mode of travel and places selected for boarding and lodging. Rest of the things are almost similar for everyone with similar interest and similar choice of destination like Wildlife, Rajasthan Tours and another places in India . But lot of variety, which is equally luxurious in all aspects, can be offered to the traveller.

“I was a little apprehensive” says Friggo, “when he was offered the choice of travelling by road in the  Golden circuit tour of Delhi ,Jaipur,Agra, Haridwar and Rishikesh . However, all my doubts were cleared the moment I saw the comfortable car that rolled in the porch of the hotel to pick me up. Now I understand that what I got to see and experience in this journey could not have been possible if I would have travelled by air. I could actually feel one with masses, talk to them and eat with them. It was indeed memorable and made me understand the best way of actually knowing the people of the country you are visiting”.

The Erco Travels agents smiled when he heard Friggo speak so gloriously about his budget tours in North India. He added that what this budget tour offers is a chance to feel the pulse of the crowd. Otherwise, it is just that lots and lots of heads and zooming vehicles and cows on roads. You can not feel the humanity behind this chaos for which a budget tour is best.

The second difference these tours have for a normal one is the option of choosing from a variety of accommodations, which we ensure are extremely clean and reputed, yet offer extremely competitive prices just to the reputed travel agents like Erco Travels. “You know we get them so much of business that it is very obvious to get very special rates for our travellers”, said a beaming Erco Travels agent. And, this is what makes our budget tours in Northern India  so very different from others. However, this still doesn’t make us complacent and we are always on our toes and this is what helps us to deliver to the best of our abilities. So budget travellers what are you waiting for!

North India Religious And Temples Tours

There are times in life when one is more inclined towards spiritualism and in exploring the mysteries surrounding the existence of almighty God. Sumana was also going through such a phase and it was the innate restlessness that made her take the snap decision of visiting India-the hub of spiritual tourism. She had heard a lot about Erco Travels from her friends and decided to contact them for this visit.

She was actually surprised to receive such a long list of destinations from Erco Travels agent; really impressed by the manner in which he had given brief details about each location highlighting the salient points. After many deliberations she zeroed down on the focal point of Hindu religion in Haridwar, Rishikesh and Amarnath-all from Northern India as after landing on Delhi International airport this tour could be taken uninterrupted.

In Delhi she decided to visit Akshar Dham and was amazed to see such a sprawling campus of 100 acres, which was built in a span of five years. The main monument of was 141 feet high, 316 feet wide and 356 feet long. Built of white marble and pink stone it reflected a unique aspect of Indian culture.

From Delhi Tour she decided to move on to Haridwar to see the most sacred ghats of India-the Har ki Pauri that was built by Vikramaditya. The evening arti that took place on the banks of this ghat was a memorable experience in itself. When the floral diyas were floated on the Ganges, the ambience filled Sumana with a sense of peace and tranquillity. Moving on from Haridwar to Rishikesh was easy as it was just 25 kms away from Haridwar, Popularly known as the gateway to the Himalayas the city was like religious sanctity personified as it was bustling with all kinds of religious heads and many smaller and so-called sadhus.

Erco Travels agent told her legend goes for this place that Lord Rama did penance here in Rishikesh for killing Ravana. Today these two cities of  Haridwar and Rishikesh  are renowned as hubs of yoga, auyurveda and meditation. So, with the help of Erco Travels, Sumana booked herself into a famous yoga and meditation center and found so many people like her.

Then she shifted to Rajasthan and visited:

•Eklingji temple: Situated in Udaipur, a famous temple devoted to Lord Shiva. Dating back to the 15th century it had the architecture of Jain temples.

•Dilwara Temple: Very famous for its religious sanctity and situated in the cool environs of Mount Abu, the place she was informed is always thronged by tourists and Indians alike.

•Galta temple: The beautiful temple located in the city of Jaipur and dedicated to the Sun god is a coveted destination of tourists.

•The Temple of Shrinathji: Built in the 17th century, this is a Vaishnavite shrine and is situated in Nathdwara. The legend goes that Lord Krishna lifted the Govardhana hill in his hands to provide shelter to the cow herds and protect them from the relentless rain of the Indra, the water god.

After completing the tour Sumana felt was so much at peace with herself that she couldn’t help thanking Erco Travels profusely for all the timely help.

North India Tour with Taj Mahal and Tiger

North India tours are exceptional as the land that encompasses Northern region has it all-spirituality, natural diversity, traditions, history and an exceptional glimpse of India in its new form-as an upcoming force to reckon with. Some other exceptional plus points for planning a tour in this part of the country are as follows:
Tourist friendly destinations, many of which are extremely popular with foreigners.
Good tourism infrastructure including airports, roads and hotels.
Diverse tourist destinations that have plenty to offer to all kinds of tourists from spiritual and religious to historical and architecture loving people, or traditional and cultural tourists, not to forget the Adventure Tours and Wildlife Tours enthusiast.
What to expect?
When visiting the country and planning to make a choice of the destination with Erco Travels it is essential to understand what comprises of Northern India. This region lies mainly on the continental India that has towards north the Himalayas, to its west the Thar desert and Vindhya mountains in the south. The most dominating feature of the region is the Indo-Gangetic plains.
Needless to mention then that the area is famous for some of the most visited tourist destinations of which Taj Mahal and Corbett, as well as Ranthambore are the most predominant ones.
How to reach?
The most convenient International airport to reach all these places is that of Delhi as Delhi is centrally placed and from there these destinations are very convenient to visit.
The destinations:
The Corbett National Park renowned for its Tigers and Elephants was established in 1936 along the banks of the Ramganga River. This also happens to be countrys first National Park, which is now looked after under countrys prestigious Project Tiger project since 1973.
The national park is situated in Nainital district of Uttarakhand and is the abode of some of the endangered species. Placed in the foothills of the Himalayas, it boasts of a total area of 500 km out of which 350 km is the core reserve. For wildlife lovers this place is a heaven and a must-have in their itinerary to visit.
Ranthambhore National Park: This park is unlike Corbett Adventure and much smaller in area spanning across 400 km . There was a time when this park boasted of a healthy head count of Tigers , but has been recently more in news owing to the lack of the majestic cat than the presence of it. Situated near the small town of Sawai Madhopur, this park is also well-connected with Delhi and has fairly decent boarding and lodging choices.
Taj Mahal : Just few hours drive to this monument of love is always a memorable experience for all. This monument was constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife Mumtaz who died while giving birth to their child. Distraught by this loss, the Emperor build this monument to make their love for each other eternal.
All these Northern region destinations require almost seven days of comfortable travel and are extremely varied in terms of what they offer. However, what is almost certain is that these seven days of tourists life always become an unforgettable experience of their life. Any takers?

North India Tours - First Choice Of All Travellers

Northern India, these very words conjures up the images of majestic Himalayas, the sprawling Indo-Gangetic plains and the sand dunes of Thar desert. The Himalayas spread across the states of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and the Thar Desert encompasses the state of Rajasthan adding to the beckoning combination for the travellers.

Having known what encompasses the Northern India, it is very easy to fathom the reasons that make this region a coveted tourism destination. Right from the snow-peaked mountains that have given this area so many wonderful hill stations and skiing resorts, to the Wildlife areas that sprawl on the foothills of these mountains. Not to forget the beauty of the plains, where akin to the rich alluvial soil, every flora and fauna washed by the splashing waters of the majestic rivers like Yamuna and Ganga, almost each destination is fairly reputed in this circuit for its cuisines’ and sight-seeing.

“Secondly the region is very well connected with the rest of the world”, stated Erco Travels agent. Some of the most modern international airports of the country are in this region. Even road network is very well-developed. People are friendly and English speaking so the travellers feel comfortable roaming around on the streets.

Strategically too this region has played an important part in shaping the course of India's rich historical and Culture and evolution in over the last 3500 years. Glimpses of this role can be seen in the form of amazing monuments, forts and palaces and sites replete with anecdotes of heroes who laid down their lives fighting for the area.

Erco Travels experience shows that one requires love for travelling, an eye for detail and a heart to enjoy and explore the diversities offered by this region and the rest just falls in place.  Nothing that you espy in this circuit is quite like what you expect. Some of the major attractions of the region are:

•The spiritual awakening in the land of Leh and Ladakh
•The beauty of Taj Mahal, the seventh wonder of world
•The Golden Triangle tour covering Jaipur, Agra and Delhi
•A visit to the roar (Tiger) in Corbett and Sariska National Park
•The cool environs of hill stations like Srinagar ,Shimla and Kullu Manali to name a few
•The serene environs of the North India Temple
•The Adventures of trekking, skiing and mountaineering
•Pushkar festival and the beauty of sprawling Thar desert especially as visible in Jaisalmer
•Surajkund craft fair highlighting the handicrafts of the area
•Rafting, yoga and meditation in Rishikesh and Haridwar
•The Rock garden of Chandigarh built by a single man out of waste

What is interesting about each destination of the region is the similarity in terms of warmth and hospitality, richness of culture and cuisine that never fails to entice the travellers. They constantly seesaw between the mixed emotions of love and loathe and yet never cease to be in awe of the peace and happiness within the apparent chaos. Needless to say travel to this region is an experience that can never be forgotten. Any takers?

North India Wildlife Attractions

Northern India is famous for its roaring tigers, elusive leopards, majestic elephants and spirited herbivores like cheetal, sambhar, bluebulls etc.” with these words the Erco travel agent went on and on about the wildlife glory of the region. He was happy to have rapt attention of the group that he was catering to and the group was excited to hear what was in store for them while they went about exploring these areas of wilderness.

The reaction of the group was not something new for the Erco Travel agent. He was aware that the thrill of enjoying what the areas of Indian wilderness areas offer is unparallel and incomparable. This is primarily because the forests of northern India are open and approachable and teeming with wildlife Tours  . The forests are also not very dense and quite close to major cities so it is easy to go around these destinations and there are also all the more chances to view good wildlife along with plethora of floral species.

Some of the popular National parks of this region are Ranthambore, Corbett Adventure, Wildlife Sanctuaries,Sultanpur and Rajaji to name a few. The most sought after animals in many of these parks is Tiger, followed by Elephant and Leopard and whoever gets a glimpse of all of them, returns back a satisfied tourist.

Erco Travel agent informed the group he was travelling with that contrary to what people normally believed, many of these areas have these majestic animals. But these are indeed (at times) difficult to spot because tourist movement is normally restricted to tourist zone of the park, where there is lot of activity. Animals like Tiger and leopard on the other hand are shy and elusive so it is a little difficult to spot them. This is the reason one needs to make minimum possible noise and keep eyes and ears open for any signs of these animals presence like the bark of cheetal or pugmarks. Erco Travel agent went on to mention that the world of wilderness is different from ours where there are signage, which are easy to understand. The signages of the world of wilderness are restricted to sounds like animals calls, and sights like pug mark, marking of territory etc.

What is most interesting about these attractions of North India Heritage Tour is the fact that these areas are very different from one another. While on one hand Corbett is dense, Rajaji is more open and Ranthambore has an air of nostalgia replete with palaces.

For Bird lovers, all these  National parks are a delight and a haven to watch resident and migratory avian species in their glory. Other interesting aspect is fairly well-developed tourism around these National parks that helps the tourist to enjoy these destinations in a relaxed manner. Many even go to the extent of staying in remote guest houses and locations deep into the forests to get a feel of the life in these terrains and invariably come back blessed with an in-depth insight into the mystic and aura of what these parks offer to us. Any takers?

Rajasthan Tours - A Day In The Life Of The Jungle Traveller

India has so much variety in the experiences she has been able to offer travellers that you will never be able to run out of novel reasons to be here in a whole lifetime. Among the many attractions that have made India a tourist magnet, Rajasthan Tours rate extremely favourably. This is one of the most frequented circuits for domestic and international travel, and there has been no one who has returned from a tour of this desert state disappointed.

There are many different kinds of tours which you can select on a Rajasthan Tour. Rajsthan Forts and Palace Tours, desert tours and historic tours are the popular reasons why Rajasthan is the preferred choice. However, the one tour which takes precedence over all these is the Wildlife Tour in Rajasthan.

Rajasthan houses within it several  Indian Wildlife Sanctuaries Tours and parks which have gained fame for the hospitable habitat they make for the animals, and also the ease with which tourists can master the terrain and marvel the wonders of nature. On its part, the state has also taken impressive measures to ensure all travellers are given the best in accommodation and assistance.

The various wildlife reserves in Rajasthan boast of numerous animals whose sightings are sought after by thousands of tourists. While most of the lesser known sanctuaries are feeding and breeding grounds for common species of  Tiger and birds Tours , parks like Kumbalgarh and Ranthambore offer an opportunity to spot rare beasts like leopards, tigers, deer and bison.

Gone are the days when a jungle safari meant long, arduous days in the gruelling sun, and returning to sparse accommodation and frugal meals. Jungle safaris in Rajasthan have given luxury a new definition altogether. Lavish tents adorn the banks of rivers where animals come for a drink of water. As you sit sipping your morning cup of Assam tea, you can encounter a parched tiger have her fill on the opposite bank. Why toil laboriously when you can afford the same experience sitting in the lap of comfort? Resorts have left nothing to imagination. Every fantasy is manifested in the form of opulent tents and rooms, all of which are air conditioned contain everything that is required to make you feel indulged. Complete with internet connectivity and telephonic access, you are unlikely to feel like you are removed from the hustle of city life, until you leave the confines of room and get engulfed by nature around you.

If you are looking for a chance to get to the animals at close quarters, Wildlife Tours in Rajasthan give you just this chance. Your very own tour guide will bring you up to speed with legends, history and facts about the park and its inhabitants. Taj Mahal Tour - Most Popular Tour of India

Rob appeared fairly sullen and in an introspective mood every now and then to his colleagues. Little did they realise that this behaviour stemmed from the fact that his first marriage anniversary was in the month of March and prior to that he wanted to make his first valentine’s day after marriage very memorable for his wife. But he just couldn’t zero down on something special. At least not till he came across  Erco Travels website and hurray in five minutes he found what he wanted to surprise his wife with , something that his months of donning the thinking cap couldn’t even find.

He will take his wife for a week-long  Tour to India  and will plan a special visit to the famous monument of love-the Taj Mahal.

Once this decision was taken planning the rest was extremely easy for him as he left it all to Erco Travels. He only had to discuss in detail with them about his special requirements and the rest was taken care of. And what a trip that was!

He simply asked his wife to pack her bags and loved the look on her face when she realised that they were boarding a flight to India. After landing in Delhi on 13th they were whisked off to Agra Tour by Erco Travels agent and when he took his wife to Taj Mahal on 14th February both were spell bound by the magnificent sight in front of their eyes.

The Erco Travels agent informed them that Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his third wife-Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth to their child. So the emperor ensured that Taj Mahal  became the finest example of Mughal architect and what he himself aspired for the monument can be best described in Emperor’s own words( translated in English): Emperor Shah Jahan himself described the Taj in these words:

Should guilty seek asylum here,
Like one pardoned, he becomes free from sin.
Should a sinner make his way to this mansion,
All his past sins are to be washed away.
The sight of this mansion creates sorrowing sighs;
And the sun and the moon shed tears from their eyes.
In this world this edifice has been made;
To display thereby the creator's glory.

Rob and his wife were amazed to hear that it took almost twelve years for the Emperor to build this main structure of the monument and another ten to build the rest of the area for which he used not less than 1000 elephants to transport building material to the construction site and used labour force of almost 20,000 workers and craftsmen to construct this seventh wonder of world.

Rob spent whole day in the watching the beautiful monument and was surprised to see how popular the place was among foreign tourists. People-both national and international thronged the place in hordes and loved every moment of  Tal Mahal Tour. However, what matter the most to him was the fact that this was one visit that he and his wife were sure to remember forever.

Forts And Palaces Tour Of Rajasthan

Ann a student of Travel and hospitality sector was researching on her summer project-The Forts and Palaces of India. “Hey, your studies are interesting”, exclaimed her brother peeping out of his thick physics book of twelfth standard and “look at me, always need to sleep and eat with atoms and chemicals”, he grimaced and closed his book. “Tell me how India got so many forts and palaces”.

“It is simple” said Ann. India has a rich and long history in which various dynasties ruled different parts of country and this is what gave us such a rich heritage. These palaces offer an insight into the life of the royalty of the country. While many a monuments of erstwhile period have been destroyed, government has gone out of way to restore and maintain these buildings in the best possible manner.

Special highlights of these forts and palaces are the arched gateways, carved marble columns, arcade corridors, various royal museums showcasing royal treasures and personal belongings of the Rajas and Maharajas and their queens. Strolling through these architectural wonders one can soak in the feeling of royalty and relive the majestic grandeur that once was in the golden era of India.

Many of these palaces have also been converted into museums or hotels, while some palaces are still lived in by the royal family member. A India Tour of these magnificent architect marvels is always any tourist delight explained Ann.

“Oh, is that so”, stated Tom, getting more and more drawn in the conversation. I thought that no one lives in these palaces and also that a fort is only in Delhi and nowhere else. “Not at all brother”, said a confident Ann. Let me tell you about forts and palaces in various parts of India:

•The forts in Delhi: Delhi, the capital of India, boasts of many forts and palaces that have played crucial roles during various periods of Indian history. The Red fort, built by Emperor Shahjahan is extremely prominent in the city and has become one of the national symbols, after all the Prime Minister of country addresses the nation from this place on every Independence day. This fort has had a rich history including invasions and massacres.

The other important forts in Delhi are Tughlaqabad, Siri fort, Purana Quila and Firoz Shah Kotla.

Forts and Palaces of:
•Rajasthan: Rajasthan’s forts and palaces are the major tourist destination in North India Tour primarily because the state has rich history and was also ruled by many kingdoms. These rulers were great connoisseurs of art and brilliant builders. The most famous forts and palaces in Rajasthan are located in Chittor, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Udaipur, Jaisalmir, Amber and Nahargarh.

•Uttar Pradesh: In Uttar Pradesh the Agra fort was the centre of Indian politics for a long time from the reign of the Lodhis to the Mughal emperor Shahjahan, who shifted the capital to Delhi. The fort is one of the most impressive structures in the world Taj Mahal and along with the complex in Fatehpur Sikri is the finest example of Mughal palace architecture. There are some other notable forts and palaces in Allahabad, Aligarh and Jaunpur.

•Madhya Pradesh: Madhya Pradesh has many forts from the era of early Islamic rulers of 12th to 15th century, followed by the Hindu Rajputs and Maratha rulers. Some important forts were also built by the 18th century tribal rulers.

•Maharashtra: Maharashtra came into prominence during the reign of the Maratha king Shivaji. The Marathas were in constant conflict with the Mughals and this is when Shivaji built many forts to continue his fight against the Mughals. There are other forts built by the early Turkish sultans of Delhi and the Portuguese.

“I am impressed and amazed”, said an awed Tom. “Let’s request parents to take us on a tour of all these”, he stated.

Explore the exotic destinations of North India

“India is an ephemeral reality that unravels another mystery just when you believe that now you know what the country is”, Tiny raised her eyebrows while reading out these lines from a travel article to her friends. She, along with her group of friends, had decided to visit some exotic locales of Northern India and were these days reading everything available about the country. “So does that bring our search for the right destinations to a full circle”, Lee stated while munching fish and chips. “Cant’  say”, stated Tiny giving an equally confused look.

“Hey! I have a solution to all your problems”, said Mike, who had just joined the conversation and was already widely travelled. “Why don’t you all just get in touch with Erco Travels and get a swift answer to all your queries. I have travelled once with them and found them to be extremely meticulous and well-informed”, he stated and on getting everyone’s concurrence shot an email to the Erco Travel agent.

“So here is the answer said a beaming Mike after half-an-hour” saying this he circulated the reply received. The email mentioned how India is such an incredible country, where one can get extensive and out-of the world experience of a life time. From celebrating the royal past to enjoying the sheer natural beauty, or exploring one’s inner self, few destinations in the world are as fascinating as India. It encompasses an astonishing range of tourist attractions, which are simply irresistible. Everything from the architecture to the incredible hospitality is superb in this land stated the email. It also listed some good North India destinations as given underneath:

Jaipur–The pink city is fairly well planned and offers tourists the joy of participating in the colorful fairs and festivals, along with the opportunity to enjoy the luxury of visiting stunning Rajasthan Forts & Palaces Tour. What’s more? The city has a lot to satisfy the taste buds of all and sundry. So one can feast on the delicious culinary delights, treat eyes to the reflection of a palace in the charming lake, watch the enchanting Wildlife Tours or browse city's markets filled with amazing handicrafts. In fact Jaipur is very tourist friendly and some of the must see attractions are the City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort and Wildlife and  National Park Tour.

•Khajuraho- Well-known across the globe for its erotic sculptures carved artistically on the walls of ancient temples, Khajuraho is a World Heritage Site and a must see for every tourist. Located in the state of Madhya Pradesh, the area is an architectural marvel in the true sense of the word. If visiting in the month of February and March, one can also enjoy the classic Dance Festival celebrated every year.

•Gulmarg –Another sparkling jewel in the crown of India’s heaven on earth-the Kashmir and Heven in Himalayas. Gulmarg is a hill station that oozes natural beauty in abundance. Trekking and golfing are the exciting adventure sports that the tourists can indulge in this small hill station.

Agra- a historic city is renowned for the seventh wonder of the world-the Taj Mahal, which is a symbol of love and one of the finest monuments of the Mughal Empire. Other attractions of the Taj Mahal Tour  are Agra Fort, Sikandra and Fatehpur Sikri.

After mentioning these most popular tourist sites, the email from the agent further stated that India’s Northern region tour offers many wonderful and exotic locales that it is difficult to mention it all in an email. So it will really help if Tiny’s group will first decide what will be the focus of this trip to India-adventure, historic travel, soul-searching experience etc. and accordingly the agency will give them a list of probable destinations.

Reading the longish email, there was smile on every face present in the room. “So what are we waiting for”, mentioned Tiny and once again they all sat down to identify the focus of this trip and the deliberations continued.

If you are also planning any such tour just write to us and let the www.ErcoTravels.com take care of it all.

India is famous around the world for its diversity. Indian culture is a potpourri of various cultures which have been influenced by each other and evolved. India is a multi-religious country. One can spot a Temple, a Mosque, a Church and a Gurudwara in the same vicinity. Northern India tours are an ideal choice for those wishing to understand the culture of the country.
