The design of the symbol of love is a combination of Mughal and Persian architecture. Building has four corners like other Islamic structures and four minarets, which are about 40 metres in height. The white marble used in the construction of Taj Mahal was produced from Rajasthan. At that time, transportation was done on the thousands of elephants. The walls of Taj were filled with precious gemstones from inside like sapphires, jades, garnets, ambers and topaz, which were brought from all over Asia. However, most of the gemstones were taken by British when they ruled India for about 100 years. There are other mausoleums of red sandstones, which are of other wives of Shah Jahan.
